Lich King

One of Sanctuary’s intrepid 10-man’s successfully cleared Icecrown Citadel by beating the Lich King the evening of June 8th. It was a challenging, fun fight, and a great way to finish off the expansion’s story. For those who haven’t seen it yet, you are in for a treat when you get there. Congratulations to Roash (Tainted Twig of Nordrassil) and Tamu (Windrunner’s Heartseeker) on some nifty new weapons, and the raid for their Kingslayer titles.

The Lich King fight is supposed to be even better in 25-man. Look forward to seeing it in that setting in the next few months.

New news

We have had a few kills since the last news post. Just a few of weeks after the Deathwhisper/Gunship victories, we came, we found and we contemplated the meaning of “Dranosh.” It either means something about “Draenor” in orcish, or “pwn.” Not quite sure. Anyway, first wing of Icecrown Citadel 25 cleared with the defeat of Deathbringer Saurfang! That gives us our first 25-man Tier 10 tokens (outside of VoA).

Tryssta — Toskk’s Maximized Wristguards
Xichron — Conqueror’s Mark of Santification
Thasegamiso — Conqueror’s Mark of Sanctification

1

We started the final three wings of ICC with the Crimson Halls April 18th. Hopefully, Prince Kelesseth, Prince Valanar and Prince Taldaram will stay dead this time! Apparently some weren’t aware — you fight these three guys in other places/instances in Northrend! Utgarde Keep, Old Kingdom and Borean Tundra in case you missed them.

Legis — Landsouls’ Horned Greathelm
Morbid — Shadow Silk Spindle
Kositer — Sanguine Robes

1

Finally, April 29th we made some progress in the Plagueworks. After some work on Bloodqueen Lana’thel we decided we finally had the 135,000 raid DPS needed for Festergut 25’s 40,400,000 health. It actually turned out to be pretty simple. Only took us two attempts when we went in and tried it.

Rusttle — Distant Land
Thasegamiso — Plague Scientist’s Boots

1

Hopefully we’ll have Rotface, Bloodqueen Lana’thel and Valithria down soon in our continued pursuit of the Lich King!

Deathwhisper

After some dedication (and a SuperBowl break), we returned to Icecrown to continue our march against the Scourge, this time taking down the head of the Cult of the Damned, Lady Deathwhisper. It was a more challenging fight, though the night of the kill the hardest part seemed to be snagging our 4th Marrowgar kill!

Pyrintha — Nibelung
Forsakenme — Shoulders of Mercy Killing
Embata — Zod’s Repeating Longbow

1

Also had some time to hit up the chess event of Icecrown Citadel, the Gunship Battle. It proved to be easier than the 10-man version, so easy that we one-shot it.

Sparat — Gunship Captain’s Mittens
Forsakenme — Corp’rethar Ceremonial Crown
Rusttle — Ikfirus’s Sack of Wonder

1

After a single pull of Deathbringer Saurfang, things seemed promising so the progress should continue!

De-boned

Following swiftly on the heels of our ToC clear, we took down Bonesa– Lord Marrowgar, the first boss of Icecrown Citadel.

Xichron — Frozen Bonespike
Minoras — Gendarme’s Cuirass
Dragoons — Bulwark of Smoldering Steel

1

Hopefully, there will be more progress to report from Lady Deathwhisper onward in the near future!

ToC Clear

After a break for the holidays, and a few attendence issues, we went back and cleared ToC25! More impressively, Anub’Arak was a one-shot, after a month without seeing him. Very appropriate after a 3% wipe back on December 17th. Congratulations to all on your hard work.

Extra congratulations to:

Flakmonkey — Band of the Traitor King
Kossatha — Trophy of the Crusade & Might of the Nerub
Kositer — Boots of the Icy Flow
Oriana - Lurid Manifestation

Yogg-Saron next?

At long last…an Update!!!

This piece is brought to you by the letter X and the number 2:

The 3.2 patch has come and gone, and it saw a lot of progress for Sanctuary, from finishing up tier 7 content to clearing the majority of tier 9. Despite a slow start, we finally killed Malygos on 25-man August 30th, followed up the new VoA boss Koralon September 1st, and a clear Antechamber in Ulduar by silencing the Crazy Cat Lady, September 3rd:

1

We spent most of the months of September and October working on the Keepers of Ulduar. They were four fun and very challenging bosses (and oftentimes frustrating). We started by chilling out Hodir September 17th, and pacifying Freya in the same reset September 20th.

3
4

The new Onyxia’s Lair was released in late September and we got our first kill of that familiar boss September 24th. And speaking of older content, we went back and cleared Sunwell during September as well.

5

After struggling with some attendence issues (and working on Thorim for a while first), we slapped Mimiron silly October 25th, and finally got Thorim’s arena figured out November 8th to get our Keepers of Ulduar achievement at last.

4
6

The following week we reached General Vezax for the first time in 25-man, defeating him November 12th, opening the door on attempts at the final boss of Ulduar, Yogg-Saron.

5

At Yogg-Saron’s doorstep, we also finally gave the new Trial of the Crusader 25-man instance some real attempts, killing Northrend Beasts and Lord Jaraxxus on our first night of attempts (November 19th).

7
8

A short break for Thanksgiving delayed the second half of the instance, with kills on Faction Champions and the Twin Val’kyrs coming a couple of weeks later on December 3rd.

9
11

And that brings us to patch 3.3, and Icecrown, with just Yogg-Saron and Anub’Arak remaining!
